Cornell battles mechanical issues in CMH Diamond Nationals at Wheatland
Kaeden Cornell returned to Lucas Oil Speedway (Wheatland, Mo.) on Saturday afternoon to pilot the Hoover Motorsports No. 50 Late Model for the 17th annual CMH Diamond Nationals.
With 40 Late Models entered for the event co-sanctioned by the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) and Lucas Oil Midwest Late Model Racing Association (MLRA), Cornell was forced to swap tires before his time trial session only to break a left-front upper control arm. Transferring into a B-Main for another shot at the $15,000-to-win A-Main, Kaeden salvaged a 10th-place finish after battling more mechanical issues.
