Cornell Finishes Fourth in ML Peformance Crown Jewel Series Point Standings
Behind the wheel of his Dirt Draft No. 50 (virtual) Late Model entry, Kaeden Cornell visited the (virtual) William Grove (PA) Speedway on Monday night competing in a field of 49 World of Outlaws Morton Buildings iRacing Invitational Series entries. After coming one spot shy of a transfer position in his heat race with a fourth place finish, Cornell streaked to a 12-lap consolation victory, which positioned him 17th on the starting grid for the main event. Advancing through the field 11 spots in the 50-lap affair, Kaeden registered a sixth place finish.
Also on Monday evening at the same venue for the ML Performance iRacing Crown Jewel Series sanctioned contest, Kaeden tallied the fourth fastest time in his qualifying group before placing second in his heat behind Corey Gordon. Starting the preliminary feature fourth, Cornell edged his way into Tuesday night’s $250-to-win A-Main with a sixth place finish.
Earning the 12th-starting position for the main event, Kaeden improved nine spots to place third behind Blake Matjoulis and Kendal Tucker with Corey Gordon and Howard Weaver rounding out the Top-5.
On Friday evening to wrap up the ML Performance iRacing Crown Jewel Series, Cornell headed to The (virtual) Dirt Track at Charlotte (Concord, North Carolina) for the two-day World Finals. Following the fourth fastest lap in a field of 20 cars, Kaeden posted a second place finish in his heat behind Kendal Tucker. Starting his preliminary feature in sixth, Kaeden Cornell secured his spot into Saturday night’s World Finals finale with a fourth place finish.
During the same night on Friday with the Lucas Oil eSports Series at the (virtual) Lanier National (GA) Speedway, Cornell posted the third fastest lap overall in qualifying before placing second in his heat behind Trent Ivey. After swapping back-and-forth for the lead with Corey Gordon late in the feature, Kaeden got caught in lapped-traffic that slipped him back to second behind Gordon with Jeremy Pilkerton, Nick Stroupe, and Ricky Thornton Jr. completing the Top-5 finishers.
Returning to The (virtual) Dirt Track at Charlotte (Concord, North Carolina) on Saturday night for the ML Performance iRacing Crown Jewel Series finale, Cornell rolled off 14th for a shot at the $125-to-win A-Main. Improving one spot in the 75-lap feature, Kaeden recorded a 13th place outing.
Kaeden wrapped up the ML Peformance iRacing Crown Jewel Series fourth in the final point standings.
